Description
Two positions for hourly Production Lead are now open, one within the TJI A crew and one position within the Press A crew at the Natchitoches EWP Mill. The Production Lead works with production team leadership to ensure excellence in achieving safety, quality and production goals. This individual is responsible for participating in classroom, on the job training & other developmental activities to learn the technical aspects of the manufacturing process, gain a comprehensive knowledge of each department, while developing leadership and teambuilding skills. This individual will lead the production team during a supervisor's absence and work on special projects & initiatives as assigned.
The wage for this position is $27.22 per hour.
KEY FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for the safety and operation of the shift including manufacturing specifications, proper identification of reject material, and quality checks.
Provide coverage for production shift supervisor during vacations and other absences.
Maintain assignments of crew and assign duties as needed.
Ensure the safe and efficient execution of work by teams.
Ensure job and safety rules are understood and followed by all associates.
Role model safe work practices.
Actively be involved in assigning work and evaluating job performance.
Support, coach, and provide timely feedback and direction to associates.
Participate in and/or lead unit initiatives and other assignments as required.
Understand the process flow and provide solutions to issues.
Immediately address all safety and housekeeping issues.
Coordinate with Maintenance during changeovers, work orders, and downtime occurrences.
Participate in crew meetings by offering solutions to achieve metrics.
Other duties as assigned.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Qualifications
At least five (5) years of manufacturing experience.

Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite and other Microsoft-based programs.

Must be willing to work a 12-hour shift which will include weekends and holidays.
Ability to work in extreme temperatures and be ambulatory for the majority of an assigned 12-hour shift.
Must be QA competent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, particularly in Forestry, Business Administration, Finance, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
Two years' previous key leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in route manufacturing concepts such as housekeeping, ergonomics, and labor efficiency.
Experience in wood products manufacturing.
Experience with LEAN processes.
