GOM Wellsite Superintendent/Supervisor
Our client is an international energy company and their offshore Gulf of Mexico operations encompass the entire value chain of oil and gas exploration and production, with a focus on safety, environmental stewardship, and technological innovation.
They are seeking an several Wellsite Superintendents and Supervisors to support their team Offshore GOM
Duration: 1 Year with opportunity for extension
Location: Offshore GOM
Work Schedule: 14 x 14 Rotation (Day and Night positions)
JOB SUMMARY: The Wellsite Superintendent and Supervisor will execute a wide variety of well site operations across the well life cycle. The position is generally a rotational position working on offshore drilling rigs. Scope includes: new well construction (drilling & completions), workovers, and well abandonment. These scopes take place across a variety of different drilling rigs / vessels.
DUTIES:
- Work effectively with contractors, Production and Project reps. in SIMOPS area to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Review/evaluate Drilling & Completions Programs
- Participate in Pre-Job Safety Meetings, Pre-Spud Meetings, and Pre-Tour Safety Meetings
- Monitor equipment rig-up and testing
- Monitor function and pressure testing of BOP equipment
- Verify all tubular/equipment inventories on location
- Monitor make-up of BHA's (bottomhole assemblies)
- Monitor critical operations, i.e. casing running, cementing, FIT (formation integrity tests), tripping pipe, drilling, and completions
- Document completed efforts and verify accuracy of IADC/WellView reports, critical equipment, operational tests and drills
- Accurately track well costs with assistance from engineer and offshore team
- Identify opportunities to improve work processes
- Participate in new rig acceptance inspection (if applicable)
- Provide clear leadership in all aspects of health, safety and environmental (HSE) protection and procedural adherence, ensuring that safe working practices
- To conduct the well operations safely, in accordance with the approved well operations program and in compliance with the applicable Policies/Standards/Procedures/SWIs/SOPs/Checklists/Emergency Checklists and the regulatory requirements, within the allocated time/cost with optimal use of resources.
- Identify any areas of non-compliance to standards, programs and policies to the direct supervisor so that a corresponding MOC or exemption is put in place.
PLANNING AND COORDINATION:
- Organizes and leads pre-job safety and operations meetings that are related to well operations.
- Leads daily planning meetings and discusses operations with drilling contractor, segment and third-party supervisors.
- Updates and communicates forecast activity (7-day planner) to anticipate resource requirements, both planned and contingency, to meet well demands and provide optimum efficiency of services.
- Responsible for checking that equipment and services comply with the contract.
- Manages proper inventory of all tangibles such as well as rental equipment.
OPERATIONS:
- Ensures that the operations are conducted to minimize the risk of well control and any other operational related hazards.
- Issues Standing Instructions for Drillers/Snubbing Unit Operators for each tour.
- Prepares detailed procedures, including calculations, for specific critical operations.
- Identifies changes and deviations to the operational program and is responsible for carrying out on-site compliance to the Management of Change (MOC) standard to prevent and mitigate the risks due to the deviation
- Implements contingency plans at the rig site
- Prepares daily cost estimates based on goods consumed and services provided.
- Signs off on services performed and materials used
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS :
- Associate degree in a Technical or Science Related field is advantage
- Willingness to travel to offshore drilling rig on a rotational schedule
- Self-directed with the ability to recognize/pursue solutions required to solve problems and ensure efficient safe operations
- Good interpersonal skills and effective organizational skills; good attention to detail, completeness and meeting deadlines
- Ability to lead and facilitate meetings and group discussions; good public speaking skills
- Excellent communications (oral & written)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

REQUIREMENTS:
- Willingness to work Night Shift (preferred)
- Must pass Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks
- Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship
- Must pass a medical evaluation of fitness to work per Client's standards
- Minimum ten (10) years' experience in oil & gas industry and deepwater GOM operations
Training & Certifications Required: Must have valid IADC or IWCF certification (Well control Level 4), SafeGulf/RigPass, BOSIET/HUET, H2S, Medical (USCG or OGUK), TWIC

They will be tasked with lifting heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and navigating uneven surfaces for extended periods.
Additionally, the employee should demonstrate manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for using tools, operating machinery, and executing intricate tasks. Furthermore, employee must be able to use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel, or operate standard office equipment. Effective communication, both orally and telephonically, is essential.
