Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join a leading downstream partner of ours out of the Greater Baton Rouge, Louisiana area. This Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of assigned projects within our partners chemical manufacturing operations. This individual will lead cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. This is a nested-contract opportunity | Holidays & benefits included. Local candidates preferred at this time.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate project activities, tasks, and deliverables to ensure timely execution.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing any issues or risks that may arise.
  • Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and provide clear direction to team members.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Allocate resources efficiently to support project activities and objectives.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to secure necessary resources and services.
  • Monitor resource utilization and make adjustments as needed to optimize project performance.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality protocols throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Implement effective quality control measures to maintain product integrity and meet customer expectations.
  • Communicate project status, milestones, and key deliverables to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Address stakeholder concerns and provide timely updates to maintain transparency and alignment.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support project success.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
  • 10-15 years of proven experience as a Project Manager in the chemical manufacturing industry, with a track record of successfully managing complex projects from initiation to completion.
  • Strong understanding of chemical manufacturing processes, including safety protocols, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Solid organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software applications.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
